 OverNet Mastering is the remote mastering service supplied via Internet using a Pac-Box file-server (by Paolo Coveri - Consulenza informatica) that, by means of an easy-to-use WEB interface, allows to transmit audio files securely thanks to SSL protocol (SSL3/TSL1 with 128 or 256-bit key, according to the browser).
The
service can be used with any browser supporting secure protocol SSL3 or
TLS1 (Safari, MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla/Firefox, Opera, etc) and
with any operating system (Mac, Windows, Linux, etc).
How it works
After being assigned a personal user code and a password, the client will be able to enter a private file both to submit the material and to collect it at the end of the work session.
When the processed files are approved by the client, we produce the
master copy that is then made available either on the Pac-Box file
server in disk image or DDP format, or sent by DHL directly to the client.
Important: people who normally
offer this service use e-mail or FP server, which do not ensure a
proper level of security as all the data are transmitted via Internet
uncoded and may be easily intercepted by hackers.
Pac-Box file server guarantees that the data (file upload and dowload, user code and password) are transmitted using a cryptographic system so that no interception is possible.
